This storage ottoman is almost exactly what I've been looking for for about a year now, and it's pretty much one of a kind.Nobody else makes anything like this (well, more on that in a minute).
What I wanted was a coffee table that had storage inside for things like throw pillows and blankets.But I essentially wanted it to then triple as an ottoman.This thing fit the bill.
The leather is very nice, and the construction of the unit feels very solid.It weighs a good amount.The storage space inside is wonderful, with enough room for 3 throw pillows and 3 large plush blankets.The top, which flips over, is the best feature of all.When in tray mode, it provides a very large surface.This is basically our dinner table, so it's important to have enough room, especially when we have friends over and we're all eating in front of the TV.When the top is in ottoman mode, it's great for putting your feet up on.Now everyone on our couch can put their feet up while watching a movie with us.It's great.
I had two worries about the unit, both of which were quickly appeased:
- On the tray side, I worried about spills.I worried that if someone spilled some liquid, it would get inside the cushion part of the lid.I didn't know how it was constructed, and how the surface was connected to the lip that goes around the edges.Fortunately for us, the tray side is covered with a laminate, and there isn't a seam anywhere on the tray.You may not like the laminate thing, but for us it suits our needs and it still looks very nice.
- On the ottoman side, I worried about sturdiness.I worried that if a guest wanted to sit on it to tie their shoe something, and that wasn't intended by the people who made this, that they'd just fall through! Again, fortunately there really is no chance of that.When the tray side is down, it meets up with a very wide lip in the storage part of the ottoman.I wouldn't jump on the thing, but I say there is no chance of the unit collapsing under the weight of even two large people.This is also great for us because it means we have two more seats at parties.
The only concern I have about the entire unit is that I wouldn't put too much weight on the tray side.It's certainly not designed to support a person sitting on it.I don't think there's much chance of putting too much weight on it, though, so this isn't really a concern for me, but you should be careful of that if you think of buying it.
Lastly, the price.It's excellent.In case you were searching for this, yes, it's the exact same storage ottoman that's being sold at World Market right now (the Owen?the Ryan? something like that).My wife and I considered buying it, but they didn't have it in any of their stores, only online.Well, online it was $189 + $35 shipping.We had a 10% off coupon, so that would have brought it down about $19.So yes, on Amazon even after shipping, we paid less than the World Market sale price minus the coupon!Fantastic!
It's a great ottoman/coffee table/storage unit and a great price.Highly recommended!

VERY SOLID CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN EXCEPTFOR FASTENERS WHICH REQUIRE THE USE OF AN ALLEN WRENCH. THIS MEANS THE ASSEMBLY TAKES LONGER THAN IT WOULD WITH REGULAR SCREWS. 
I purchased these leather ottomans as "window" benches for my two large dogs.The items arrived, within two days, pre assembled and carefully wrapped and secured in foam covering.
We were very impressed with the quality of this ottoman and it has adequate storage for your throws...or whatever you want to store.It's a slightly different shade of black than our Italian leather sofa set, but it blends in nicely.
This ottoman is gorgeous, sturdy and very well made.I highly recommend it!The hinges on the inside are high quality and allow the lid to stay open; it doesn't slam shut on you.It is very roomy inside so you can store a lot of things.You won't be disappointed if you order this ottoman.Top quality!
We were happy with the quality, but the "black" was a very deep shade of brown and did not match our black leather sofa set at all.We returned it and replaced it with one of Baxton's other full leather square storage ottoman's, which did match.
This bench is stunning! These photos do not do it justice.I purchased it to put in my studio apartment to store my sheets / blankets in when I'm not sleeping on my futon.Everything fits great, 2 pillows, 2 sheets, 1 comforter and a couple of blankets.The brown is stunning and neutral.The leather is EXTREMELY soft and supple.Well worth the price!
This is a deal! The drawer is sturdy enough for most things. The ottoman itself looks and feels good. It comes fully assembled which is a BIG plus. And you can't beat the price.
If you're looking for an inexpensive ottoman to serve as a coffee table, this is it.You can't beat the price -- trust me, I looked everywhere and this was the least expensive with the best look I could find.Thanks to reviews for the smaller version of this ottoman, I was prepared for the odd packaging.The company packages the cushion up inside the base, behind the fabric, attached with velcro.If not for the other reviews, I would have freaked out and returned it, assuming they only sent half of it.It's all there and it looks great, unlike the reviews for the small ottoman, our cushion is perfect, not squished in any way.We did not attach the feet as the ottoman is quite tall already and we wanted a safe place for our toddler to be able to stand.
I have not had this for very long but so far I can say that this is a very nice looking and well built ottoman.Plenty of storage space.About 5 3/4 inches deep. I put all of my remotes, game controllers, some games, some movies and batteries in the storage space.Thick cushion.The cushion is pretty firm.Much more firm than my old ottoman but I think that is probably a good thing. It will probably soften up over time. Measuring from the floor to the top of the cushion it is about 16 inches. Perfect height for my couch. Has a good weight to it.Not easily knocked around.This came by Fedex which surprised me.I thought for sure that a courier would be used.I don't think the Fedex guy was too thrilled.It took 3 days to get to me using two day Amazon Prime shipping. Exactly what they said.
