We have two that we use as end tables. Overall, we like them very much. They were well thought out and well packaged, so assembly was quite easy. About the only drawbacks were 1) A minor glitch with assembly steps and 2) The simulated 'leather' tops. As far as assembly, it would make more sense- especially if you're doing the job alone- to secure the external magazine rack to the corresponding side to provide some rigidity before proceeding further. The 'simulated leather' tops are, essentially, paint. An improvement might be to include a clear plastic covering to make the top more durable.
